Detailed Description. USGS scientist Steve Box takes an oriented sample of folded, crenulated, and metamorphosed banded siltite, exposed in the Blacktail pit of the Blackbird cobalt-copper mine, in the Salmon River Mountains of east-central Idaho. Constraints on the timing of Co-Cu ± Au mineralization in the Blackbird district, Idaho, using SHRIMP U-Pb ages of monazite and xenotime plus zircon ages of related Mesoproterozoic orthogneisses and metasedimentary rocks. The Blackbird district, east-central Idaho, contains the largest known Co reserves in the United States.
The Blackbird cobalt-copper (Co-Cu) district in the Salmon River Mountains of east-central Idaho occupies the central part of the Idaho cobalt belt—a northwest-elongate, km-long belt of Co-Cu occurrences, hosted in grayish siliciclastic metasedimentary strata of the Lemhi subbasin (of the Mesoproterozoic Belt-Purcell Basin). The Black Pine Property is located approximately 17 miles from the town of Salmon, Idaho, in Lemhi County, proximal to the Company's Idaho Cobalt Project. History of the BLACK PINE Project Mineralization was first discovered in the area of the present Black Pine property in the late s with several short adits, crosscuts and a shaft. Its project, the % owned Idaho Cobalt Project (ICP) is comprised of the mine and mill site located in Lemhi County, near the town of Salmon, Idaho. The company has also mused upon establishing a refining facility, the Cobalt Production Facility (CPF), to be a stand-alone hydrometallurgical facility that would process the ICP Mine concentrates.
Capital Corp., U.S., a wholly owned subsidiary of eCobalt Solutions Inc., received an economic feasibility study that outlines the development of a cobalt mining operation near Salmon, Idaho, and hydrometallurgical refining facility on a railhead in neighboring Blackfoot, Idaho. The project is known as the Idaho Cobalt Project and is owned by. Septem — eCobalt Solutions Inc. (ECS-TSX) (“eCobalt” or the “Company”) is announcing positive economics from the Feasibility Study (“FS”) of the Company’s Idaho Cobalt Project (“ICP”), the only environmentally permitted, primary cobalt project located in the United States. The FS is based on an underground mine with a target production rate of short tons per. Ownership: The Idaho Cobalt project is made up of claims surrounding the former Blackbird copper-cobalt mine, operated by Noranda. According to management, theseFile Size: KB.
